Our Standard Stock Sizes
From Jaipur to Monte-Carlo, via the Tibetan plateau of Kathmandu, we travel the world in search of beauty that will light up your home. Maison Moghadam rugs are the result of over 60 years of experience in rugs and fashion and are made entirely by hand. We create our own designs and select the best materials, which are then brought to life in our workshops in India and Nepal. Behind each elegant creation is meticulous workmanship, executed with passion and joy.
The Process
Our carefully selected wool becomes yarn in the hands of the artisans layering its strands together, removing dirt and knots.
The yarn is then spun on a spinning wheel so that the intertwined fibers of wool stick together to make the most durable form of yarn with the most remarkable texture.
Yarn is wound on a wheel-like frame, and dipped and kept into boiling hot vats of dye to embed its intended colour, then hung to dry in the sun. We dye yarn to over 3,000 colours.
Following a millennial tradition coming from Persia, weavers sit down at the loom and spend up to one year hand-knotting their patterns, line after line, with a meticulous attention to detail.
Washers methodically pour water and a mild cleansing solution to pull out the dirt that every carpet has attracted. Each stroke flushes out what is unnecessary and at the same time increases the strength of the underlying knots.
Gultarash is a specific technique that translates to “finding the flower” — originally used to create a high-low effect that made flower patterns pop out. Today it highlights motifs and patterns, and creates a textural effect.

Commission a RugOur palette includes over 1,200 colours and an extraordinary range of sustainable and innovative materials: Himalayan wool, silk, vegan silk, alpaca, llama, mohair, cashmere, jute, nettle, aloe vera, cactus, pineapple, banana, bamboo, recycled nylon, gold and silver plated threads, metal fibre, and recycled sari silk developed in-house.
